When I first did this assessment, I was in 2nd session of grad. school, Sept. 2010, had never heard the term "Multiple Intelligences" and kept scoring highest in "Bodily Kinesthetic". My facilitators were as confused as I was. Found out during my portfolio review at the end of the semester, I had questions for test A but answer sheet for test B. Only time in my life I was rated higher than average for anything physical. It did change the way I thought of myself-lost weight, exercised more and watched the empty calories. For Christmas that year, I was in a size 0 or 2 and had the time of my life going out and feeling a little hot - just one more time! Funny how the brain tricks you into believing something based on pencil scratches on a piece of paper!

This was the teaching tool that gave me the cutting edge with my students. Not one other teacher was willing develop variations of the lessons they had been doing the past 100 years! Our special ed.,, school psych, principal, etc... all thought I was going a little crazy because I had a lesson for each one of the intelligences and further directed it to the student's style of learning by creating 3 levels within each discipline. That year was the best I ever had as a teacher. Kids did not want to miss school, we had so little negative behavior since everyone was engaged, we always had time for community building activities, creative opportunities, and just time to play. I felt like what I was doing mattered. It is hard to go 12+ years and not getting to do what I know is best for kids. I wish I lived in TX-would be applying at one of the schools listed in "Edutopia" daily. They'd get so tired of me interrupting lunch, hanging out in the office, or would be so impressed at my persistence, the principals would be offering a contract. haha....This site has given me a ton of inspiration and the proof I need to see if my team would be willing to even just do one subject next fall and then re-evaluate.

Good luck to all of the teachers, staff, administration and STUDENTS as you begin the adventure of learning/teaching in an environment that is "best for kids". Way to go!

Hotel life in Bloomington, MN

Our life since May 5, 2012 has been nothing short of truly living day by day, After Rob kicked me out to the streets, I spent 1st night in truck, next 2 with Myssi and in hotels since 5-8-12/I wouldn't mind it except we need air conditioning running all the time or suffer from heatstroke. From 5-8 through 5-17 we ended up at Bloomington Microtel. What a shady place-someone stole most of my new clothes for Spring/Summer heat. I did meet a U of M professor, though... fun to flirt-even invited to his room for tv and drinks (couldn't do it with kids-they'd never understand. Myssi was ready to fight and was determined to take me down as low as low can be. Mother's Day she accomplished her goal-have never felt so inadequate, used or hurt. Add Keke's birthday and missing Grandma was too much to bear. No insurance yet, not able to pay for meds or therapy...some tough times ahead, I am afraid.

Life Marches On....better catch up

Since 5-5-12, the life I had been living was changed in a blink of an eye. Instead of celebrating Cinco de Mayo, going to the parade, out to eat and having drinks with new friends, I found myself packing and leaving a safety net I had come to depend upon. My exhusband, got rid of the old-ME and is searching for the new improved model. I left his home penniless and homeless. The financial situation is improving but the homeless issue is still an issue. The kids and I have been hotelling it, nothing like going from an absentee mother to one that is ft, on duty 24-7. I love it and at the same time am overwhelmed by the energy that is zapped from being MOM. I LOVE MY KIDS - LOVE BEING THEIR MOM, BUT I CHECKED OUT AND IT IS TIME TO CHECK BACK IN!!!!!! GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND CATCH UP TO YOUR LIFE - THERE IS NO TIME TO PROCRASTINATE ON THIS ONE!

What Happens in Vegas STAYS in Vegas!

Tonight at 3:00 am or so, I will be picking up Reid and we will be on our way to the first vacation we have ever just taken together. Am I apprehensive? No...he is the only person in my life that is grateful, happy with who and what life has come to mean for him, and is so excited. I am truly praying, God, that I treat him with respect and dignity and do not take the garbage in my life from MN with me. It is time to regroup-get priorities set and get all paperwork done to ensure continuance of benefits, salary, student loan, etc......So, for the next 14 hours it is time to buckle up, stop procrastinating, do the damn homework, (I am so disappointed with this decision-should not have let Tom B talk me into changing my major---dumb, dumb, dumb!) figure out how to get it onto course site, pack, take care of Myssi's insane financial problems, leave Rob and Huey at home-I am good enough to fck and take money from but not good enough to even be mentioned to "his family". This will change-I cannot keep putting my needs aside and bankroll everyone else.....it is not getting me anywhere but a sure trip to wrinkle remover and hair dye aisle..... So,
Get MOVING-GET THE HOMEWORK DONE - LET'S SAY BY 3PM-FIND SOME ADDERRALL , PUMP IT UP FOR THE BEST TIME EVER WITH MY NUMBER ONE SON!

i AM GOING TO HAVE FUN-THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN USING ME ARE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO DO WITHOUT BECAUSE i AM TAKING WHAT IS MINE! i CAN'T WAIT TO BE WITH SOMEONE WHO IS APPRECIATIVE AND HAPPY!

I love my church

I love my church! I am still thinking about yesterday's message about creating amazing kids! I know I screwed up as a parent during the teen years, but I do have to move forward. I am so proud of the young adults they are becoming. I am most concerned about "financial wellness". We all seem to spend, shop, wish for, THINGS THAT MEAN NOTHING. I need to fill the holes up inside myself before I can help them. It is definitely a goal-see someone like Dave Ramsey to get the help we need to develop a healthy relationship with money.

My RNA and RJA- I love you, am so glad I am your mom, and will never forget again to let you know how I feel. If I slip up, call me out......I don't ever want you to wonder if you are cherished, loved, and appreciated.
